​    I grew up in the family business, Designing Windows Plus, which my parents, Susan and Dave Meakem Senior, founded in 1985.  From a young age, I worked alongside my dad installing indoor and outdoor shade products—everything from custom window treatments to awnings and beyond—right up until 2007. Those hands-on years taught me invaluable lessons: that a handshake still means something, that quality craftsmanship and integrity build lasting relationships, and that taking care of customers comes first.

    In 2008, I took the next step in my career, following in my grandfather's footsteps as a custom remodeler and builder.  I honed my skills across a range of residential and large commercial projects before realizing my true passion lay in transforming outdoor spaces.  All roads led me back home to Designing Windows Plus, where I now focus exclusively residential and commercial renovations—creating beautiful, functional outdoor living areas with the same commitment to excellence my family has upheld for decades.  Today, I'm proud to carry on the tradition, blending generations of experience with modern design and technology to help people enjoy their outdoor spaces like never before.
​   ​When I'm not transforming backyards & commercial spaces at Designing Windows Plus I'm all about making memories with my wife Lisa, and daughter Elizabeth. We spend our free time outdoors  camping, riding dirt bikes together, hitting the slopes for family ski days, and soaking up amazing moments right in our backyard oasis.

​   Those hands-on adventures remind me why I love creating outdoor spaces that bring people closer because the best days are the ones spent with the people who matter most.
